was founded in 1967 by William Langford and Edwin Low. The
extensive construction and leadership experience of the two
partners combined with the long hours and superior
craftsmanship of its people provided the new business with
success from the beginning. Originally created as a
foundations & small building contracting business, Langford
& Low quickly gained a reputation for quality construction
combined with a high level of customer service. As the
company reputation developed, general contracting became the
principle discipline of the organization. Once located in
South Portland, Maine, the company relocated in 1971 to its
current location on Warren Avenue in Portland. In 1977, ten
years after helping to establish Langford & Low and working
as a dedicated business partner, Ed Low retired from
Langford & Low, leaving William Langford as the sole
proprietor. |
In 1980,
James Langford joined his father’s business. For the next
eight years the two men worked together developing new
clients and providing quality general contracting services
to them. With a growing number of dedicated and talented
people working for the company, the organization completed
projects from Northern Massachusetts to Northern Maine. When
William Langford retired in 1988, James Langford purchased
Langford & Low, and the business moved into its’ second
generation. |
James
Langford was the recent recipient of the Associated General
